In this hands-on workshop, all supplies are provided — just BYOB to the Mercantile! Learn how to make your own soft-cover hand-bound notebook or sketchbook and mini zine with illustrator and designer Rachael Amber. You'll learn basic book-binding skills to help stitch together a notebook from scratch. Rachael will also cover how to turn a sheet of printer paper into a mini 8-fold/6 page zine.

Zines are basically abbreviated DIY versions of magazines — a great way to make a small booklet of ideas, images, poetry, songs, drawings, collage and more! They're easy to photocopy and fold for quick and cheap distribution. You will leave this workshop with your own notebook or sketchbook, a mini zine of your creation and the knowledge to make both again whenever you desire!
