Weavers Way Workshop: Dividing Perennial Plants

Sunday, April 22, 2018 - 10:00am to 12:00pm

Many garden perennials, such as Hosta, Daylilies, and Iris, can benefit from being divided into multiple plants that can be spread out within your garden or shared with neighbors. This outdoor workshop is for novice gardeners or those who would simply like to learn more about what's happening below ground so they can reinvigorate their perennial plants and multiply them without spending any money.

Instructor Eric Sternfels invites you to a guided educational tour and presentation at Ned Wolf Park, where he will unearth and explain the underground root structures of a variety of perennials, demonstrate how best to divide them and show you how to plant those divisions in plastic pots. Registrants will be given the opportunity to do some digging and potting of plants themselves with tools and materials courtesy of the Friends of Ned Wolf Park.

A portion of those plants will be offered to registrants to take home, and the remainder to be sold to support the park at its annual Plant Sale on Saturday, May 19, from 10 a.m.-1 p.m.

FREE. REGISTER HERE.
