Parsonsfield at Pastorius Park: A free concert sponsored by Weavers Way

Wednesday, July 19, 2017 - 7:30pm to 10:00pm

Join Weavers Way at Pastorius Park for a free outdoor concert featuring indie roots band Parsonsfield, described by FolkAlley.com as “... some of the most jubilant and danceable indie roots music this side of the Carolinas.” Pastorius Park Concerts is the longest-running outdoor concert series in Philadelphia. Come dance to the music at one of Chestnut Hill's most majestic backdrops — don't forget to bring blankets and chairs!

Parsonsfield is notoriously fun to see live. Members of the band all sing and often switch instruments and trade places on stage. Besides their primary instruments, various members play saw, synthesizer, glockenspiel, melodica and auxiliary percussion. “A mix of infectious Appalachian anthems and rustic, handcrafted ballads. It is a pop-ish bluegrass fury of well-worn guitars, danceable drums, and traded vocals balanced evenly with the haunting sounds of three-part harmonies… ultimately, it is the precision and polish of musicianship well beyond their years that pulls the audience fully in.” — Pop Matters

Weavers Way is sponsoring this concert in the seven-part series. For a full schedule of summer concerts at Pastorius Park, click here.
