Panel Discussion: "The Fear of Forgetting"

Sunday, May 1, 2016 - 1:30pm to 3:00pm

Weavers Way Co-op has been collaborating with the Northwest Village Network and Ralston My Way  on a number of events over the course of the past year.  This informal coalition recognizes the many important decisions that often accompany aging, and collaborates to bring open discussions, friendship, support and other resources to members who are concerned about quality of life in later years, whether it be their own or that of a loved one.

Join us on this occasion, for Fear of Forgetting, a forum focusing on Dementia and Alzheimers. You'll hear from a panel of memory experts led by Dr. Jason Karlawish, co-director of the Penn Memory Center; Felicia Greenfield, MSW, Director of Penn's Memory Center Care Programs; and Fredericka Waugh, MSW, Outreach Coordinator, Alzheimer’s Association of Delaware Valley.  They will talk about what is normal memory loss, signs to be aware of that perhaps it is not, and what to do about it.

Sunday afternoon, May 1, 1:30--3:00 pm,  at the Unitarian Church of Germantown, 6511 Lincoln Drive.

Parking:  Access the rear lot from Johnson Street between Greene and Wayne avenues. (Use GPS address 359 W Johnson St.) • Street parking on Lincoln Drive, in front of the church. Please note: On Sundays, the courtyard at the Lincoln Drive entrance is reserved for accessible parking only.

This forum is part of the ongoing Prepared and Empowered  series of community conversations and presentations on the challenges of aging.  (Some of you may have attended the November panel about issues raised in Atul Gawande's best selling book,On Being Mortal.)

Co-sponsored by Northwest Village Network, My Way, Weavers Way, and the Unitarian Society of Germantown.
