Moxie Tuesday Workshop: Fermentation & Probiotics

Tuesday, May 8, 2018 - 6:00pm to 7:30pm

"Fermentation" and "probiotics" have been buzzwords in the food and health scene for a while. Get in the know and find out why we're crazy about pickles and kimchi, and how you too can prepare them at home. Gather nutrition tips, expand your culinary vocabulary, explore new approaches to cooking, and get inspired to experiment. Free takeaways and tastings included! This workshop will be led by Dorothy Bauer, a raw food chef and a member of the Weavers Way Neighborhood Nutrition Team.

The $5 requested donation supports FOOD MOXIE's agriculture and culinary programs at Stenton Family Manor, Saul Agricultural High School and Martin Luther King High School. REGISTER HERE.

Weavers Way Co-op is pleased to offer this program in partnership with the non-profit FOOD MOXIE. Taking place on the second Tuesday of the month, MOXIE Tuesdays are a series of workshops, including cooking demos, discussions about food, food justice and healthy eating.

FOOD MOXIE was created by the Board of Directors of the Weavers Way Cooperative Association in 2007. From seed to supper, FOOD MOXIE educates and inspires people to grow, prepare and eat healthy food. We work with children and families at Stenton Family Manor, as well as students at MLK High School and Saul High School.
