Community Forum: "Death with Dignity: Rights & Choices"

Sunday, March 26, 2017 - 3:00pm to 5:00pm

The public is invited to a fourth forum organized by a neighborhood coalition of advocates for the aging.  Northwest Village Network, East Falls Village Network, Ralston My Way, and Mt. Airy USA, with support from Weavers Way Co-op, brings "Death with Dignity: Rights and Choices" to the FIRST UNITED METHODIST CHURCH OF GERMANTOWN (FUMCOG), on March 26, 2017, at 3:00 p.m.

The forum will feature a speaker from Compassion & Choices, the nation’s oldest, largest and most active nonprofit working to improve care and expand options for the end of life.  C & C will present the issues, and explain pending PA legislation on personal rights, joined by speaker Barbara Mancini,  a registered nurse once charged with assisting her father's suicide attempt. Mancini will share her real life perspectives on the legal issues affecting some of the most important decisions we may ever have to make.

This Forum is part of an on-going series of events meant to educate and advocate for the elderly, their families and their caregivers who are navigating care management, complex legal systems and personal challenges associated with aging.
