Chestnut Hill Community Association Holiday Parade 2015

Saturday, December 12, 2015 - 9:00am to 10:00am

Beginning at Chestnut Hill Avenue, musicians, marching bands, community groups, and antique cars will parade on Germantown Avenue, led by the Philadelphia’s Mounted Police Unit, Chestnut Hill’s Fire Company Engine 37, Wyndmoor Volunteer Fire Hose #1 and everyone’s favorite-the Phillie Phanatic. Joining them is the Venetian Club’s comic brigade, which performs each year in the New Year’s Day Parade. At the heart of the parade, however, are the children. More than 400 marchers representing local schools, sports groups, scout troops and sporting clubs are participating. They will march down the Avenue carrying banners, throwing candy or waving to spectators along the route.

This year we neighbors are encouraged to join together to march! Make a float, wear fun hats, create a banner or create a theme to march with your friends!

The parade ends at the Market at the Fareway (formerly Chestnut Hill Farmer’s Market) with musical performances around its outdoor fireplace. Rumble, the University of the Arts bucket drum corps, also will be featured at the Fareway. There will be treats, and Santa will pose for photos with the children. Community members and visitors are welcome to view the parade on Germantown Avenue.

Chestnut Hill Avenue to Southampton Avenue, 9-10 a.m.
