Weavers Way Workshops provide members with opportunities to hear from experts, learn about community issues, hone specialized skills and more. Workshops are always free, although sometimes we might request a materials fee.
THURSDAY workshops are member led, with topics as varied and far-reaching as the interests of our members — from watercolors to water pollution, movies to massage, books to backyard chickens. Working members can earn three hours of cooperator credit for hosting a workshop; why not run one yourself? For more info or to propose a topic, contact Outreach Coordinator Bettina de Caumette at firstname.lastname@example.org or 215-843-2350, ext. 118.
On TUESDAYS, look for food-focused workshops, cooking demos, film screenings and other events brought to you every week by Food Moxie in partnership with Weavers Way. Food Moxie was created by the Board of Directors of the Weavers Way Cooperative Association in 2007 as a means to actively promote the health and well-being of the community in which it operates, and offer direct support to Philadelphia families in need. In the years since, Food Moxie has become an independent nonprofit organization, offering a unique range of farm, nutrition, and culinary education programs, positively impacting the lives of thousands of children and families in Northwest Philadelphia and beyond.
On WEDNESDAYS, join us weekly for workshops that will inspire and enable a stronger connection of our homes and lifestyles to nature and community. From how-to workshops on topics of self-sufficiency and urban homesteading to discussions about gardening for biodiversity, Wednesday night programs will guide us in methods of creating more sustainable, connected and personally satisfying ways of modern living.
Unless otherwise specified, workshops are held in Mt. Airy, either in the Community Room at 555 Carpenter Lane or across the street at the Garage, 542 Carpenter, and run 7-8:30 p.m.
